We are in the era where life has become so overwhelmed with day to day mundane activities that the charm of life has been lost. In such circumstances literature is one support with which won can pass through the termoils of these times. Literature has been life long passion for me,and I strongly believe in its power to inspire, to mittigate the challenges of life and unite the people.
Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi (CSA) works with the mission of nurturing a rich literary culture among the speakers of all five languages like Hindi, Punjabi, English, Urdu and sanskrit in Chandigarh. The writers of these languages have shaped the generations of this city and CSA is playing a vital role in preserving and promoting their legacy while embracing contemporary voices and aspiration of young generations of writers,readers and literary connoisseurs to bridge classical modern and post modern literatures of western and indian/regional traditions.
CSA is dynamic centre of literary activities and engagements which organises book discussion symposium and seminars, author interactions, creative writing workshops and literature festivals to promote the interest in literatute among the citizen of Chandigarh , who are known for their rich heritage.
CSA also honoured the veteran authors of hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, English and sanskrit by the awards of Recognition. It also gives the best Book of the year Award and provide Grant-in aid for the Publication of Manuscript to the authors of Hindi ,Punjabi, English, Sanskrit and Urdu.
In all our endeavours, CSA has received tremendous support from Chandigarh Administration, Department of Culture and National Sahitya Akademi,Delhi.
